SHE GRADUATED FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN IN 2014 WITH A WOMEN’S STUDIES DEGREE AND IN 2019 WITH A MASTER’S DEGREE IN EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND POLICY WITH K-12 ADMINISTRATION. PASSIONATE ABOUT MAKING EDUCATIONAL REFORMS IN PREDOMINATELY POOR COMMUNITIES OF COLOR, SHE CREATED A POETRY CLUB FOR DETROIT YOUTH TO CREATIVELY HEAL.

 

IN 2018, SHE PUBLISHED HER FIRST BOOK DIARY OF A DAUGHTER IN DIASPORA - A BOOK OF POEMS ON DIASPORA, LOVE, HEALING, AND TEACHING. SHE IS A FOUNDING MEMBER OF WISDOM (@WISDOMPOETS), THE ONLY ALL-WOMXN’S POETRY COLLECTIVE IN MICHIGAN. FOUNAS HAS PERFORMED AND LED WORKSHOPS FOR HIGH SCHOOLS & UNIVERSITIES, NONPROFITS, GREEK LIFE, FAITH CONFERENCES, ART & CULTURAL GROUPS, AND MUSEUMS ACROSS CITIES AND STATES.
